Philanthropic organisation the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust (HMST) has sold its office building at 27 Windsor Place in the CBD having occupied the three-storey heritage building for the past 10 years.
The philanthropic trust, which was established in 1951 and has provided more than $130 million to various Victorian charities over the past 70 years, purchased the property in 2011 for $2.695 million, according to CoreLogic.
Constructed in 1895 as a two-storey home, the property at 27 Windsor Place is one of the last remaining buildings of it’s kind, and has since been refurbished into a 267 sqm fitted-out office space complete with a large rooftop terrace.
Offered as a vacant possession, its understood real estate agency JLL has sold the property to a new owner-occupier. JLL was contacted for comment by CBD News.
As it looks to move to a new, larger premises, HMST CEO Debra Morgan told CBD News that the organisation would “try to stay in the CBD if we can”. •
